- This sounds like a minor problem but its driving me crazy! I believe its a
- Win95 problem, not a modem problem: I am unable to hear dialing and modem
- negotiation tones, even though I'm using the ATM1L3 command.
-
- The setup:
- MidWest Micro P133 Desktop
- InfoTel 28.8 Data-Voice-Fax modem (FDVSP Modem type)
- Windows 95 Dial-up Networking and Hyperterminal applications
-
- Registry AT strings issued (as per modemlog.txt):
- AT<cr>
- ATM1L3&FE0V0&C1&D2S95=47S0=0<cr>
- ATL1M1\N3%C3&K3BX2<cr>
- ATM1L3<cr> <= This was added using the extra settings box
- ATDT;<cr>
- ATDT#######<cr>
-
- The weird part:
- -The first time I try after boot up, I hear negotiating tones,
- thereafter, I don't.
- -If I issue an ATDT#######<cr> directly in hyperterminal, I always
- hear negotiating tones.
-
- The not so weird part:
- MidWest Micro (who tech support InfotTel as well) and Mircosoft
- tech supports are useless.
-
- I'd really appreciate a solution - thanks in advance.
